From the start of class until April 20, three weeks away, we will be working in Unit 1 developing knowledge on global issues. For the first week we will look at and discuss some of the issues in the world today, and decide if what we think is true. We will need at ask a lot of questions.
Each student will select a nation (your choice) from one of 8 regions - but let's try to select nations from one region. We will do this since other classes will be looking into other regions, and we will come together on April 21 to share our findings in the library meeting room via a poster presntation.

Assignment Due: Class Presentation 1
This is our first class presentation, and is really an informal friendly review of what you have been studying in your communications class, and what connections you have been making about the nation you decided to study. Let's enjoy as this is a good review for tomorrow when we will have a friendly share, poster session, in the library with other classes.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21, 2010
Collective Reflections 1 You have been looking into a nation and their issues, and how they relate to both a) your studies, and 2) the world. Let's go share with other communications classes what we have been learning, and learn what they have been discovering about their nations.
For today, please log in to blogger.com and post (write a response to):
1) tell us one thing interesting about you.
2) what are some questions you had after todays class about the unit?
3) what is something you wonder about a global issue?
4) What will you try to find before the next class so we can discuss your findings together?
5) ask a classmate a question about their post (the first to post does not need to do this).

Hi
ReplyDeleteMy name is Junko Suzuki and I had fun in todays class. Thank you.
I do not have so much interesting about me. I did go to California on my holiday. It was very ice and warm.
I am wondering if I need to speak in front of many people? I am very shy, hasukashi, in Japanese.
About a global issue, I wonder about the street children in Mongolia. I liked the stories you told us about this - but it was kind of sad. I wonder why people don't help them more.
I will try to find out about a home for the children, an orphanage, and report back to the class on this.
I am the first to post.
